OUR FOUNDER
Kent’s Journey To Creating T&A
Kent Tompkins is a resident of north Texas and a native Texan from Port Arthur, TX. He is a Civil Engineer for the States of Texas and Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.
As an Engineer for over 40 years, Tompkins has worked in various capacities in Texas, Louisiana, and California. He has extensive experience and expertise in project management, project engineering, team developer for large- and small-scale projects in transportation, utilities, and land development, delivering innovative and unique solutions for complex problems from conceptual design to construction completion.
He currently owns and manages Tompkins & Associates, a local engineering firm established in 1992, providing inspection services, forensic research for legal issues, and engineering expertise for customer and commercial properties. This is a niche market customers rely on to establish the stability of their property or detect/resolve issues, along with providing documentation for local entities for permitting various construction repairs or renovations. As part of our services, while the company does not repair properties, after a thorough inspection it provides the repair plans for specific vendors to assist customers in resolving any detected foundation or structural issues.
We are small but mighty! Much of our business comes from customer referrals and our relationships with various realtors, foundation companies, vendors, etc. We do our best to accommodate customer requirements and changes for a positive outcome.
